On April 15, the higher education evaluation institution Shanghai Ranking officially released the 2026 Shanghai Ranking of China Universities. SDMPU ranked 25th among Chinese medical universities and 210th in the main rankings, achieving a new breakthrough.
In recent years, SDMPU has fully implemented the Party’s educational policies, fulfilled its fundamental mission of fostering virtue and nurturing talents, and steadily advanced various initiatives to build a strong education system at both national and provincial levels. It has proactively supported major national and regional strategies by optimizing disciplinary structures, strengthening innovation-driven development, and deepening international collaboration, thereby comprehensively enhancing its educational quality and overall competitiveness. In this evaluation cycle, our institution has made significant progress across key dimensions—including faculty size and composition, talent cultivation, scientific research, and global influence—which has laid a solid foundation for its ranking improvement.
The Best Chinese Universities Rankingby Shanghai Ranking leverages big data support from the 360-Degree Data Monitoring Platform of University establishing ten evaluation modules: institutional level, disciplinary strength, educational resources, faculty size and structure, talent cultivation, scientific research, societal service, high-end talent development, major projects and achievements, and international competitiveness. These modules encompass 35 detailed evaluation dimensions, incorporate 104 specific indicators, and cover 398 assessment variables, providing a comprehensive, monitoring-based evaluation of Chinese universities academic performance.
