On the morning of April 10, the signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement between Shandong Medical and Pharmaceutical University(SDMPU) and National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod(UNN) in Russia was held in the office building of SDMPU. Bednyy Alexander, Vice President of UNN, and Yu Li, Vice President of SDMPU, attended the ceremony.

At the signing ceremony, Yu Li, on behalf of SDMPU, extended a warm welcome to Bedney Alexander and his delegation and briefly introduced the institutions historical background and distinctive educational features. She noted that coinciding with the centennial anniversary of UNN and renaming of SDMPU, sustained and active exchanges between the two institutions have effectively facilitated the implementation of collaborative projects. She expressed hope that both universities would leverage the China-Russia Education Year as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in academic research and faculty and student exchanges, further expand their international educational collaboration network, and promote the integration and complementation of educational resources on both sides.
Bednyy Alexander presented an overview of the current development status and distinctive advantages of UNN in Russia, with a focus on the achievements made by its leading disciplines in teaching and research. He highly commended the accomplishments of SDMPU in medical education and scientific research, expressing his expectation that future collaboration between the two institutions would create more development opportunities for faculty and students.
In the presence of representatives from both institutions, Yu Li and Bednyy Alexander jointly signed a cooperation and exchange agreement. Under the agreement, the two universities will engage in in-depth collaboration in fields such as medicine and interdisciplinary studies to jointly advance international talent development and academic innovation. This partnership represents a significant step in SDMPU strategy to deepen international cooperation and enhance educational globalization, which will substantially accelerate its internationalization efforts and contribute to the shared advancement of education between China and Russia.
During the visit, Bednyy Alexander and his delegation toured SDMPU History Museum, the Medical Research Center, and School of Special Education and Rehabilitation. Representatives from relevant departments and schools accompanied them during the tour and engaged in discussions.
