Vice President Tian Geng was elected Vice President of the Provincial Western Returned Scholars Association

On March 30, the Fourth Meeting of the Second Council of Shandong Provincial Western Returned Scholars Association was held in Jinan. The meeting conveyed and studied the spirit of the provincial ministers' conference of United Front Work Department of the Provincial Committee, summarized the work plans for 2025, outlined tasks for 2026, and reviewed relevant work reports and personnel matters. Tian Geng, Vice President of SDMPU, was elected Vice President of the Shandong Provincial Western Returned Scholars Association.


Cheng Lin, Vice Chairman of Provincial Committee of the Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), President of the Shandong Provincial Western Returned Scholars Association, delivered a work report. Sun Zhongliang, Vice Director of the Provincial United Front Work Department, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Hu, Vice President of the Shandong Provincial Western Returned Scholars Association and Counselor to the Provincial Government, presided over the meeting. The meeting emphasized that in 2026, efforts should continue to strengthen ideological and political guidance, focus on taking the lead and shouldering major responsibilities, leverage the role of the talent pool, capitalize on the advantages of the think tank, enhance the effectiveness of the young workforce, and contribute to building a modern and strong province.

 

The election of Tian Geng as Vice President represents full recognition of SDMPU efforts in building united front organizations, serving returned overseas students, and promoting international cooperation and exchanges. SDMPU will seize this opportunity to further leverage the platform role of Western Returned Scholars Association, unite and mobilize the strength of the vast community of overseas returned scholars, and make active contributions to the development of a modern, strong province and the local economic and social progress.
